As Product Owner (Payments) you will lead the Payments stream, building and scaling Fortis’s payment infrastructure across POS and online channels.
Your scope covers:
Ensuring smooth and efficient integration of new banking and PSP partners.
Owning and evolving the Fortis Payment SDK.
Developing the checkout and payment experience across all Fortis products (POS, Table Pay, and eCommerce).
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Business Development teams to deliver reliable integrations, improve transaction efficiency, and expand accepted payment methods.
Responsibilities:
Own and evolve the Payments SDK — ensure flexibility, reliability, and partner-readiness.
Lead integrations with banks, PSPs, wallets, and alternative payment methods.
Collaborate with other product teams to expand accepted methods and unify payment experience across channels.
Manage end-to-end partner onboarding and integration projects, ensuring smooth delivery and SLA compliance.
Design and optimize checkout UX for POS and eCommerce touchpoints.
Define and track key payment economics — take rate, processing cost, cost per order, success rates.
Coordinate with Engineering to maintain up-time, monitoring, and incident management processes.
Drive post-integration reviews and performance optimization with partners.
Key KPIs:
Leading: integration velocity, partner onboarding cycle time, checkout success rate, SDK reliability.
Lagging: GMV processed, authorization success rate, cost per order, uptime, and payment-driven revenue share.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Program Manager, or Project Manager with strong business ownership.
Proven experience in POS payments / merchant acquiring and payment integration projects.
Strong understanding of payment flows, authorization processes, and checkout UX (POS & online).
Hands-on experience managing partner integrations — from sandbox testing to production launch.
Excellent project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
Analytical and financially literate — familiar with unit economics, take rate, and cost-per-order optimization.
Strong communication skills for working with banks, PSPs, and internal technical teams.
Nice to have:
Experience with Stripe, Adyen, Network International, Checkout.com, Geidea, Paymob, or Tap Payments.
Exposure to multi-country acquiring and scheme-level certification (Visa, Mastercard, Mada).
